How to make a Ramadan card with a name

A Ramadan greeting with the person’s own name feels like a real dua for them, not a picture forwarded to a hundred chats. Type the name, pick a design and the card is ready – no app, no account and no logo stamped on it.

  1. 1

    Type the name

Write the name as you would say it: “Omar”, “Fatima Baji”, “Sheikh Abdullah”. Arabic and Urdu letters work as well as English.

  2. 2

    Pick a design

Ramadan Kareem with glowing lanterns and “رمضان كريم” in calligraphy, Ramadan Mubarak with a crescent over the desert at dusk, or the Indonesian Marhaban ya Ramadhan card.

  3. 3

    Check the preview

What you see is the finished card. Long names and two-word names fit in the band under the title.

  4. 4

    Download or share

Download image saves a full-size JPG with no watermark. On your phone, Share sends it straight to WhatsApp or your status.

Send it to everyone on your list, each with their own name

Press “Send it to everyone with their own name” and the free Rapid Sender opens with the card attached and a Ramadan wish filled in. Add your contacts from Excel or CSV, check the preview for the first person and start. Each person gets the card with their name on it, sent one by one from your own WhatsApp.

Mosques, madrasas, schools and shops use this to greet everyone at the start of Ramadan – and again with an Eid card at the end of the month.

Ramadan Kareem or Ramadan Mubarak?

  • Ramadan Mubarak (رمضان مبارك) means “blessed Ramadan” and is used everywhere.

  • Ramadan Kareem (رمضان كريم) means “generous Ramadan” and is especially common in Egypt and the Gulf. The usual reply is “Allahu akram” – “Allah is more generous”.

  • In Indonesia and Malaysia people say “Marhaban ya Ramadhan” (welcome, Ramadan) and “Selamat menunaikan ibadah puasa”.

  • Both cards work for anyone – pick the one whose design you like best.

When to send your Ramadan cards

Ramadan 2027 (1448 AH) is expected to begin around Monday 8 February 2027, depending on the sighting of the new moon in your country. The best time to send is the evening the moon is announced or before suhoor on the first day. For businesses, a card a few days early can carry your Ramadan opening hours too.
