A free certificate maker that does the whole list at once

Making certificates one by one in Canva or Word is fine for five people. For a class of 60, a webinar with 300 attendees or a sports day with 500 children it takes a whole day – and then you still have to send them. This generator prints each name on the same design for you, so 500 certificates take about a minute.

It works entirely in your browser. Your list and your logo are not uploaded anywhere, there is no account to create and nothing is added to the certificates – no watermark, no “made with” line. The designs are original and free to use for schools, colleges, coaching classes, NGOs, companies, clubs and events.

How to make certificates with names from Excel

  1. 1

    Pick a design

Choose from appreciation, participation, completion, merit, winner (gold, silver and bronze), webinar e-certificate, sports and student of the month designs.

  2. 2

    Write the details once

Change the title, the line above the name, the description, your organisation, the date and one or two signatories. Add your school or company logo if you like. The preview updates as you type.

  3. 3

    Add the names

Type one name, paste a list with one name per line, or upload an Excel (.xlsx, .xls) or CSV file and pick the column with the names. Use the arrows under the preview to check any name on the list – long names are made smaller to fit.

  4. 4

    Download or send

Download the certificate you are looking at, or all of them as one ZIP file with a JPG, PNG or PDF per person, named after them. Or press “Send on WhatsApp” to send everyone their own certificate.

How to send each certificate on WhatsApp

Most certificate tools stop at a ZIP file or send by email – and many students, parents and participants never open that email. In India, Indonesia, Nigeria, the Philippines and most of the world, WhatsApp is where people actually look. Rapid Sender’s free bulk sender sends each person their own certificate, with their name on it, from your own WhatsApp number.

  1. 5

Keep a number column in your sheet

Upload a sheet with a name column and a WhatsApp number column (or paste “Name, number” lines). The list comes with you to the sender.

  2. 6

Press “Send on WhatsApp to everyone with their own name”

The sender opens with your certificate attached, the name placed in the same spot and a congratulations message filled in. You can still move the name, change it or edit the message.

  3. 7

    Connect WhatsApp and send

Scan the QR code once with your phone, send a test to yourself, then start. Messages go out one by one with a gap between them, from your own number.

Which certificate for which occasion

  • Certificate of appreciation: volunteers, teachers on Teachers’ Day, guest speakers, donors, staff and event sponsors.

  • Certificate of participation: competitions, exhibitions, workshops, quiz contests, hackathons and cultural events.

  • Certificate of completion: courses, training programmes, internships, bootcamps and coaching batches.

  • Certificate of merit or achievement: exam toppers, distinction holders, scholarship winners and annual prize day.

  • Winner certificates: first, second and third place in sports, quizzes, debates, drawing and science fairs.

  • Webinar e-certificate: online classes, seminars and webinars – an e-sertifikat each attendee gets right after the session.

  • Student of the month: classroom awards for primary schools, tuition classes and summer camps.

Tips for good-looking certificates

  • Write the name the way the person wants it printed – check spellings in the sheet first, as a misspelt name on a certificate is the one mistake everyone notices.

  • Keep the description to one or two lines: what it is for and when. The title already says the big thing.

  • Use a PNG logo with a transparent background so it sits cleanly on the design.

  • For printing, download as PDF: each certificate is an A4 landscape page. For WhatsApp and email, JPG is smaller and looks just as sharp.

  • Before sending to everyone on WhatsApp, send a test to yourself and open it on your phone.
